Five Guys Confirms Opening Date for First Prague Location

Five Guys is finally bringing its famous burgers to the Czech Republic, with its first restaurant set to open in Prague. After several delays, the American fast-food chain is preparing to launch in Máj department store on Národní trída, with an opening date expected in March 2025.
The arrival of Five Guys in Prague has been long anticipated. Initial plans aimed for a mid-2024 debut, but unforeseen setbacks pushed the timeline back multiple times. Now, with confirmation from Amadeus Real Estate, the company managing the Máj department store, everything appears to be on track for an early 2025 opening.
Five Guys’ expansion into the Czech Republic is part of a larger regional strategy led by Monterock International, an investment firm already managing locations in Vienna. Beyond Prague, the company has its sights set on further growth in Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia, making this launch a key step in its broader Central European plans.
The chain, which started in Virginia in 1986, has built a loyal following with its fresh, customizable burgers and hand-cut fries. With nearly 1,700 locations worldwide, Five Guys has become a household name in fast-casual dining, known for its quality ingredients and made-to-order approach.
Czech customers have already been seeing signs of the restaurant’s arrival, with promotional banners displayed at the upcoming location and a Czech-language website now live, offering information about the menu and career opportunities.
This move comes amid a wave of international fast-food brands entering the Czech market. Popeyes launched its first location in late 2023 and has since expanded across Prague, while Wendy’s is actively exploring franchise partnerships to establish a local presence.
With the countdown now officially on, Five Guys fans in Prague won’t have to wait much longer to get a taste of the brand’s signature burgers and fries.
